Bath

What is the best way to clean an acrylic bath?
A soft cloth and soapy water is all that is needed to get a good finish. Rinse with clean water and wipe dry. There are also special cleaners available that will clean and protect the finish on your tub available at Frank Webb Home.

Can I choose my bath from one manufacturer and the wash basin and toilet from other another and will the colors match?
You can mix and match suppliers but the colors (even white) are not guaranteed to match and you would need to take responsibility for checking color match.

Which type of bath gives more choice of style?
No single type of bath gives a greater choice. If you're looking for roll-top or slipper bath, then cast-iron offers the most choice. If you are looking at standard baths, then acrylic and fiberglass have a wide range of shapes and sizes.

My bathroom has limited space but I still want to include a tub, what are the options?
A standard small tub is 60"x 30". If you are talking about replacing a tub with a new larger or different style tub, measure width right to left and depth front to back to see what you can comfortably fit. You can probably get any feature (air, whirlpool, deeper soaker) without having to increase the length or width of your current tub. If you are looking to get a larger tub for soaking, then it is possible to gain space other places in the bathroom by downsizing a vanity or switching to a pedestal sink.

Will my water supply stain my porcelain-enamel steel bath?
While porcelain-enamel steel and acrylic baths are generally excellent in their ability to withstand water-soluble materials, they can be affected over time. Cleaning after use will help reduce problems. Lemons left on a hard water stain will help remove it

There are options available in finishes and styles to match the overall style of your bathroom.

Do I need to have design ideas before I start the renovation process?
It's not absolutely necessary but it helps if you do. Having design ideas is always a good starting point whether it is pictures from a magazine or from the internet. If you have at least an idea of what you're looking for we will work with you to narrow down the options and find the pieces that are best for you. If you're not sure what you want, we can also help you find the products that fit your needs, your taste, and your budget.

What features should I plan to invest the most in for my new bath?
Depending on your style and taste, the floor and wall tiles can be the most expensive. Other possibly considerable expenses are the fixtures and the shower system. Sometimes we recommend that people spend the most on the fixture or item that is most important to them. If the shower system or vanity is going to be the crowning glory of the bathroom, it makes sense to invest there.

What type of return on investment can I expect from remodeling my bathroom if I sell my home?
It is generally accepted by experts in the remodeling industry that updating kitchens and bathrooms add the most value. It is true that in certain markets, these improvements may add more than 100 percent of their cost to the value of the home.

What can I expect to do while a remodeling project is being done in my home?
Most importantly, keep the lines of communication open between you and the remodeling contractor. Let them know what your family schedule is and whether you have pets confined somewhere. It is important to keep work areas off limits to children and pets for their safety. Because you may have a little extra dust and dirt in your household but keeping the work area off limits will avoid them tracking the dust to other parts of the house.

How important is it for my remodeling contractor to be licensed and insured?
It's very important. If licensing is required in your state or town, ask for proof of licensing or call the issuing municipality for proof of license. For insurance, ask for a proof of insurance or call the insurance company with whom the contractor is insured to determine coverage.
